08:35LoriWant to make sure y'all were able to add your questions to the poll for Adam's Q&A today
12:17LoriI was pleased that in this Q&A they started to touch on how these conversations we've been having since the leak are beyond research and how other functions and the rest of the company can help here. curious others thoughts.
12:18LoriAlso, if y'all have additional questions you'd like to cover in a smaller group, we'll spend some time in our Community Research sync touching on them as well.
12:23Alison Leeto be honest, i was dismayed that it felt like Adam's response was that we were "doing enough", going as far as to question "how much is enough to invest into integrity?"
12:25Alison Leewe've repeatedly had to put p1 improvements like precision tuning on a number of integrity areas to correct for over/under-enforcement (including body positivity?? which he used as what felt like defense against NSC), comments integrity, age-related recommendation tuning, and rabbitholing engineering on the back burner because we're so deeply understaffed
12:26Alison Leebecause our p0 as a team is just to keep basic integrity and non-rec content from surging and foundational engineering improvements, and we're 4 HCs short (and really, we need 8 more engineers and at least 1 more researcher)
12:27Alison Leeso to hear adam wonder out loud, "how much is ever enough?" was frankly a huge disappointment
12:27LoriI'm not sure I follow this last pt. Are you talking about your specific team or something broader?
12:28Alison Leeyes, relevance integrity team
12:28Alison Leethanks for asking for clarity lol
12:28LoriI understand that. It does feel like a cop out to go to the other extreme and say we could put everyone on this and that wouldn't be the right move.
12:31Lorithere are clearly lots of alternatives that could be more helpful to discuss in between the extremes.
12:34Alison Leetbh we should actually put everyone on this, because safe experiences= better engagement, no? more equitable experiences, safer, more inclusive would= better engagement. to position resources as "integrity/wellbeing vs. engagement" feels like a false dichotomy here
12:34Alison Leeand part of the reason why we're losing out to tiktok, as well as with young people
12:34Alison Leeor at minimum, unsafe experiences= decreased engagement
