How Meta Documents Exposed (metadocs.exposed) handles information when you use this website and its connection for AI assistants.
Last updated: October 28, 2026
Information we collect
You can read the archive and use Search without creating an account. We do not use advertising or analytics cookies, and we do not run tracking scripts.
If you pin excerpts while signed out, the pins stay in your own browser. They are not sent to us unless you sign in and choose to import them into a saved collection.
When you search, the website sends your search words to our search service to find matching records. It does not store your search unless you are signed in and choose to save it.
To apply fair-use limits to Search and Ask, the website turns your IP address into a coded identifier that cannot be read back as the address. It keeps that identifier, with the times of your recent requests, for about an hour. It keeps a total of the day's usage until the next day.
If you create an account
You sign in with a link sent to your email address. We store:
- your email address
- the collections, notes and searches you choose to save
- your Ask questions and answers, unless you choose “Don't save this question” before asking
While you are signed in, the website keeps a secure cookie in your browser so it knows who you are. The cookie ends when you sign out or close your browser. A second, short-lived cookie is used only during sign-in and expires after five minutes.
If you connect an AI assistant
You can connect an AI assistant, such as Claude or ChatGPT, to the archive. To do this you sign in with the same account. The assistant's questions to the archive are handled in the same way as Search and Ask on the website. Your assistant's own provider handles your conversation with the assistant under its own privacy policy.
How information is used
Information is used only to provide the service you ask for, keep the website running and secure, and understand how much the website is used overall. We do not sell personal information, and we do not use it for advertising.
When you use Ask, the website sends your question and the archive passages it found to an AI model, which writes an answer with citations. We send search words and archive text to AI models to rank results. We do not send your email address or account details with these requests.
Third-party services and your choices
- Cloudflare hosts the website and stores account data and saved work. Like any web host, it receives the technical details every web request carries, such as your IP address and browser type.
- WorkOS sends your sign-in email and manages sign-in. It holds your email address and a record of your sign-ins.
- OpenRouter passes Search and Ask requests to the AI models that rank results and write answers. We use OpenRouter with zero data retention. OpenRouter and the model providers do not store your questions, search words or answers, and do not use them to train models.
- Supabase holds the archive's published records. It does not receive information about you.
Some hearing exchanges include a video clip. YouTube clips use YouTube's player; Senate hearings use the U.S. Senate's own player on senate.gov. Nothing is sent to YouTube or senate.gov when the page loads. If you press play, your browser connects to that player: YouTube's privacy-enhanced player (youtube-nocookie.com) or the Senate player on senate.gov. That service then receives your IP address and may store information on your device, under its own privacy policy.
Links to court records, news reports, government sites and other websites are governed by those websites' own privacy policies.
You can delete individual saved collections, searches and Ask sessions from your Account page at any time. You can also delete your account there. Deleting your account removes your email address and all saved work from our systems, and asks WorkOS to delete your sign-in account.
For a privacy question or request, contact Reset Tech through its website. Please do not send sensitive personal information.
