PLAINTIFFS’ CHARACTERIZATION

In 2021, Meta contracted with a vendor to conduct a survey of preteens. Meta instructed the vendor to not inform Meta employees if any of the preteen survey subjects were on Instagram, so that Meta "as a company won't be made aware of under 13." However, despite Meta's efforts, it learned that several of the preteen subjects were active on Instagram.
